Onboard credit (OBC) is virtually free money that you can spend on the ship. The amount of OBC you receive depends on the actual cost of your cruise minus taxes, fees, port expenses, and port charges.
Onboard Credit can be used for most ship purchases and will be available to you as soon as you board. The OBC is attached to your onboard account and applicable purchases will be deducted from your OBC balance before placing new charges on your room.
Onboard Credit can be used for:
- Spa Services
- Specialty dining
- Gift shop merchandise
- Casino charges
- Internet, WIFI access
- Photo packages
Onboard Credit cannot be used for:
- Medical services
- Shore excursions
- Gratuities (depending on the cruise line)
As a reminder, the OBC is awarded per room, not per guest, and must be used during your cruise or you will lose it. On most cruise ships, you can check your onboard account daily (including your OBC and daily charges) right from your cabin TV. You can also contact guest services to check your balance at any time during your cruise.
